Having spent 28 years in the Civil Service (Home Office), I retrained to become a counsellor/psychotherapist, setting up in private practice in 2015, having worked for a number of years within a large NHS GPs practice.
I have a Diploma in Integrative Counselling
BA (Hons) in Integrative Counselling/Psychotherapy (University of Greenwich).
Level 6 Diploma in Supervision (Distinction).
I am an accredited and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP (Accred)) and adhere to their ethical framework for counselling professionals.
I use what is known as an 'integrative approach' to counselling, which means that I call upon a variety of ways of working in order to respond to your needs as an individual, or as a couple (see couples page for specific couples information).
I use person centred, psychodynamic and relational approaches, at the heart of which is my desire for us to develop a therapeutic relationship from which you can explore any difficulties you may be experiencing, knowing that I will be there for you during this process.
